Wow, the author really hits you with One Last Time of "actually Jiang Yujin's bad habits have a pretty tragic origin", although it does make the happy family life and gathering of friends now feel more moving. They got a happy ending!! Even Yuan Sanshui got to have a lively dinner together with all his friends despite one of them dying and then becoming amnesiac. And he finally gets some free meals out of it too haha, he deserves it. The unsung hero of this story, and it's kind of neat that he gets to stay that way—technically speaking, the government never found him. No one other than his friends ask him for anything, his friends are no longer living tragic and unfulfilling lives, and he gets to live the life he wants himself. Good for him! Good for all of them, they deserve to live well. Self-destructive habits may not disappear immediately (and indeed the habits felt more like attempts to improve the situation rather than self-hatred or anything, which was nice), but I feel like the narrative sets up reasonable hope for improvement without making a complete change into "who they used to be" the goal. They can be affected and still move on to something good
I'm so glad I got to experience this story, an excellent read from start to finish, funny and cool in turns, really unique style of protagonist, definitely well-worth a reread. An absolute delight
Thank you so very much for translating! <3
