I doubt the church has the manpower or will to care about a random god that only affected like 12 people, there’s a reason many spirits and demons are sealed, not annihilated; its implausible and so costly so they can’t annihilate all the big evil spirits and supernatural killers with the church spread thin across the vast USA and with limited highly skilled priests and corruption in the church, and the killer death count wasn’t too crazy compared to the many cases the Church goes though.
