Chapter 54: It Wasn’t Hard
After finding Ying Shao’an, Ying Tong and the others unexpectedly heard a very familiar voice.
“This fellow Daoist, do I really have to use the Suo Gen Hua to exchange for the Cold Ice Black Lotus? Can’t I use something else? What about this Golden Scaled Grass? It’s a thousand-year-old one.”
They saw the pair of Su siblings they had encountered earlier, standing in front of a stall, with the young girl pouting her cheeks, looking at the stall owner.
However, the stall owner’s attitude was very firm. “If you don’t have the Suo Gen Hua, then please leave. Don’t disturb the other customers.”
Saying this, he immediately activated a barrier, blocking the two of them outside.
Seeing this, the girl, unwilling to give up, reached out to touch the barrier, but her hand was stopped by the young man beside her just before it made contact.
“Brother!!” the girl called out in dissatisfaction.
“Don’t act recklessly. This is the black market! It’s not a place where you can throw a tantrum.”
If the girl really broke the rules of the black market, even if the Su family’s ancestor came, it might not be able to help.
At this moment, the girl seemed to realize that this was the black market, and it was different from other places.
Still, she looked at the stall in front of her with some lingering hope. “Brother, you know I really need the Cold Ice Black Lotus.”
Just then, Ying Shao’an approached. “I don’t have the Suo Gen Hua, but I have the Suo Gen Pill. It has the same effect. Could I exchange it for your Cold Ice Black Lotus?”
Upon hearing this, the stall owner was stunned. After opening the barrier, he confirmed, “Do you really have the Suo Gen Pill? Can I take a look at it first?”
“Of course,” Ying Shao’an said as he took out a white porcelain bottle. After opening it, a faint medicinal fragrance spread through the small space, and a blue pill fell out.
After confirming that the pill was correct, the stall owner immediately took out the Cold Ice Black Lotus and exchanged it with Ying Shao’an.
Having gotten what he wanted, Ying Shao’an was about to leave when he was stopped by the girl.
The girl raised her chin slightly and spoke with an air of entitlement, “You, give me the Cold Ice Black Lotus in your hand, and this Golden Scaled Grass will be yours.”
Ying Shao’an looked at her from head to toe, as if she were a fool. “Please move aside, you’re blocking my way.”
Venerable Yunhuang had once said that staying too long around people with poor intellect would lower your own IQ.
Seeing that she was ignored, the girl was immediately enraged. Embarrassed and furious, she stamped her foot, not accustomed to being treated this way. She turned to the young man behind her and complained pitifully, “Brother, this person is awful. Kill him and take my Cold Ice Black Lotus back!”
At that moment, passersby stopped in their tracks, stunned by the girl’s shamelessness.
How did the Cold Ice Black Lotus that someone else had obtained through trade suddenly become hers? And to demand someone’s life over it?
Though this was the black market, fighting was not allowed here. The girl must have had her brains kicked by a donkey.
The young man was equally shocked by his sister’s foolish behavior.
Seeing that the girl would not relent, the young man couldn’t take it anymore and lowered his voice, “Su Yunqian, this is the black market, not a place for you to cause trouble!”
He then cupped his hands to Ying Shao’an in apology, “This young master, my younger sister doesn’t know better. Please don’t take offense.”
Upon hearing this, Ying Shao’an snorted coldly and directly ignored the young man’s apology.
Seeing this, the young man’s smile froze, but he didn’t dare show any dissatisfaction.
He had long recognized Ying Shao’an’s identity. He was one of the six people who had entered the black market with them.
Among them, aside from the two at the Foundation Establishment stage and one at the Golden Core stage, the other three, including the Ninth Elder who was following them, were beyond his ability to see through.
To think that even the Ninth Elder, who was at the Nascent Soul stage, couldn’t see through them meant that their cultivation must be above the Nascent Soul stage.
Such a person—let alone offending them—would make even the entire Su family too afraid to provoke.
At this point, Ying Shao’an had already noticed Ying Tong and the others. Holding the Cold Ice Black Lotus, he happily walked toward them.
The young man saw Ying Tong and the others suddenly appear not far away, and cold sweat broke out on his back. These people had clearly been here for a long time, yet he hadn’t sensed anything.
He turned to look at the Ninth Elder, and upon seeing the shock in the elder’s eyes, his heart jolted. Even the Ninth Elder hadn’t noticed them!
Meanwhile, Su Yunqian, still refusing to back down, hadn’t noticed any of these changes in her brother.
…
On the other side, Ying Tong glanced at the items Ying Shao’an had brought back and couldn’t help but furrow her brows. “You looked for so long and only found these things?”
Beside him, Ying Xuechen spoke up, “These kinds of spirit herbs are a dime a dozen in the Ying family. If you want them, just go to the warehouse after we return.”
Ying Shao’an chuckled, “I know our family is large and prosperous, but this isn’t our home, is it? Let’s just make do for now. Besides, I’ve already made the pill formulas. There’s no use in keeping them.”
His last words dropped like a stone into a calm lake, immediately causing ripples of shock.
“You’ve made the formulas?” Ying Xuechen couldn’t help but ask. “How did you make them?”
Ying Shao’an blinked innocently and said, “I just did it. It wasn’t hard. Just a quick sniff, and you’ll know. What’s wrong? Can’t you guys do it?”
Ying Xuechen let out a soft laugh, but said nothing more.
He had known that Ying Shao’an had a talent for alchemy, but he hadn’t expected the talent to be so abnormal. Just by sniffing, he could deduce the formula for a pill.
Whether there would be anyone like this in the future, he wasn’t sure, but before this, no one had ever been able to do something like this.
“Good grief.” Ying Xuechen turned to Ying Tong and asked, “Could Shao’an be the reincarnation of some ancient divine alchemist?”
At that moment, a commotion suddenly arose from the crowd not far away.
Ying Tong and the others looked in the direction of the noise and saw a group of people walking toward them, exuding an intimidating aura, as though they were ready to start a fight at any moment.
“It’s the Ying family,” Ying Xuechen murmured. “They carry the scent of curses.”
“Why are these people here?” Ying Shao’an frowned, displeased.
Ever since he had learned about Ying Xuejian’s experience, he had developed no positive feelings toward the Ying family.
“I heard that a sarira Buddha bead has appeared in the black market this time,” Ye Ying explained. “It’s the nemesis of all evil things. Also, the Nine Curve Golden Lotus we saw earlier can alleviate curses to a certain extent.”
“A sarira Buddha bead? Is it like the one I have?” Ying Xuejian, recalling the sarira Buddha bead on her wrist, asked.
“Of course not the same,” Ying Tong replied.
Finding another string of Buddha beads to match the one Ying Xuejian had would be nearly impossible.
Unless Ying Tong could find another thousand-year-old bead, crafted by a monk with Buddha bones, there would be no way to create a second one.
