Chapter 53: Qin Mo Was Quite L*stful
The girl, who looked like a little white rabbit, put down her backpack, sat down while holding her skirt, and glanced at Wen Xia. Then she smiled sweetly, “Hello, I’m Wang Yaoyao. Are you Qin Mo’s cousin?”
“Mm.” Wen Xia nodded while holding the straw.
“Xia Xia, don’t nod with the straw in your mouth.” Qin Mo’s voice carried a hint of scolding. His wife had many bad habits, and he hadn’t been able to correct them after years of trying.
Wen Xia quickly removed the straw from her mouth and gave him an awkward glance, then chuckled nervously.
Zhao Zichuan scratched his nose, thinking to himself how Qin Mo managed to find a girlfriend. He wished he could find one who was as obedient as hers.
Suddenly, Wen Xia remembered that others had mentioned their names earlier, but she hadn’t introduced herself. Turning to the little white rabbit girl, she smiled and said, “Hello, my name is Wen Xia.”
“Can I call you Xia Xia like your cousin does? Is that okay?” Wang Yaoyao asked shyly, glancing behind her.
What did she mean by calling her Xia Xia like Qin Mo? Wen Xia suddenly realized where she had heard that voice before—it was the same girl who had answered Qin Mo’s phone call the other day.
She glanced at Qin Mo and gave a slight nod.
“Xia Xia, here are two bottles of water for you and your cousin.” Wang Yaoyao handed over two bottles of water, the kind Qin Mo usually drank.
The boys at the front began to tease them. Pan Sen, with a mischievous grin, said, “Yo! Yaoyao, how come we don’t have any? That’s not fair, everyone should get a share.”
Wang Yaoyao’s face turned red instantly. She lowered her head shyly, “I’ll buy you drinks later.”
Feeling a bit jealous, Wen Xia shot a small, warning glance at Qin Mo. “Qin Mo, do you want some?”
Her angry expression was so adorable.
Qin Mo couldn’t help but pinch her cheek and chuckled, “I don’t want any.”
Wen Xia was somewhat satisfied with his answer. She then turned to Wang Yaoyao and politely said, “Thank you, but my cousin won’t drink, and I won’t either. He just bought me bubble tea.” As she spoke, she raised the cup of milk tea in her hand.
Wang Yaoyao didn’t insist, and handed the water to the boys in front. “Here, have some.”
Pan Sen took the water from her and prepared to say a few words in her favor. “Qin Mo, Yaoyao is such a good girl. If you miss her, she’ll be gone!”
Qin Mo ignored him.
“Pan Sen!” Wang Yaoyao yelled at him, her face flushed with embarrassment.
Seeing that Qin Mo didn’t respond, Pan Sen looked at Wen Xia and, taking the opportunity, looked at her a few more times. The more he looked, the more attractive she seemed. “What do you think, cousin?” he asked.
Zhao Zichuan, worried that Pan Sen might get beaten up later, reached out and pushed Pan Sen’s shoulder. “Pan Sen, just shut up. If you keep going on, I’ll have to write a script for you!”
After that, no one said anything more. Wen Xia remembered that Qin Mo had beef jerky in his pocket, so she reached over to grab a handful from his pocket and gave some to his classmates.
Then she turned to look at Qin Mo. “Want some?”
Qin Mo raised his chin slightly, and Wen Xia peeled the jerky and put it in his mouth.
Zhao Zichuan: “…”
Damn, he’s so full.
At this moment, the judges took their seats, and Wen Xia spotted a familiar figure—Qin Ande.
“…”
No wonder the first-place prize was five thousand yuan.
At 2:10, the host came on stage to give a speech. “To begin with, we’d like to thank Mr. Qin Ande for his sponsorship, as well as the strong support and cooperation from all participating schools…”
Qin Mo was the eighth speaker. After the sixth speech ended, he took off his jacket and stood up to wait in the preparation area.
Wen Xia tugged at his sleeve and made a “husband” gesture with her mouth, whispering, “Good luck!”
Qin Mo chuckled softly and reached out to ruffle her head. “Thanks.”
Standing in the preparation area, Qin Mo’s handsome appearance made several girls exclaim, “Wow.” The teachers on the judge’s panel gave a stern look, signaling for quiet.
When Qin Mo took the stage, Wen Xia pulled out her phone to record a video. On stage, Qin Mo wore a white shirt with dress pants, his short hair neatly styled, looking clean and sharp.
If it was just based on looks, Wen Xia would give him a perfect score.
Qin Mo raised his hand to adjust the microphone, then bowed to the judges. After standing up, he said, “Good afternoon, respected leaders, judges, and classmates. I am Qin Mo from No.1 Middle School, and the title of my speech today is ‘Technology Enriches the Country’…”
His pronunciation was clear and articulate, full of charisma. The judges exchanged glances and nodded slightly, indicating their approval.
Wen Xia watched the video of the young man and once again marveled at how lucky she was to meet such a man.
But Qin Mo was so aloof that only she had the guts to pursue him.
When the speech ended, applause erupted. Qin Mo bowed again and returned to his seat.
“That was great!” Wen Xia leaned closer to him and smiled brightly.
Qin Mo’s throat bobbed as he glanced down at her while adjusting his clothes, then leaned down and kissed her. He whispered, “As long as you think it’s great, that’s enough.”
Zhao Zichuan felt like his eyes were going to burn out.
Because Qin Mo’s body blocked the view, Wang Yaoyao didn’t see anything.
The speech competition ended at 3:30, and Qin Mo took first place, earning a cash prize of five thousand yuan, which he tucked into Wen Xia’s pocket.
Wang Yaoyao followed them as they walked, cautiously offering, “Qin Mo, let me treat you both to something to eat.”
“No need, thank you.” Qin Mo raised his hand to put Wen Xia’s hat on her, then took her hand and placed it in his pocket.
At the entrance, Qin Ande looked at Wen Xia and Qin Mo and asked, “Are you two planning to roam around or head home?”
Wen Xia obediently replied, “Uncle Qin, we’ll go home.”
Qin Ande nodded. “I’ll take you both home.”
Qin Ande’s car was a low-key, niche brand. The Qin family kept a humble profile, just like the judges didn’t know Qin Mo was his son.
Qin Mo’s excellence was something he had earned through his own hard work, without taking any shortcuts.
…
After returning home, Wen Xia started packing her clothes and doing her homework. At 4:30, Wen De came back from the factory to take her to school.
By the time Wen Xia arrived at school, it was already around 5:20 PM. She decided not to go back to the dorm but went straight to the classroom with her bags.
The classroom was mostly empty at this time, so she sent a message to Jiang Yan and Liu An’an, telling them she had arrived.
Within ten minutes, both of them showed up.
“Xia Xia, why are you so late today?” Liu An’an handed her a bottle of milk.
Jiang Yan gave her an apple.
“I went to watch my cousin’s speech competition. He won first place!” Wen Xia proudly took out her phone to show them the video.
“Wow!!”
Liu An’an exclaimed, “Handsome Cousin is so handsome!!”
Jiang Yan, looking somewhat “complaining,” said, “Xia Xia, why didn’t you invite us?”
Wen Xia poked her arm. “Who abandoned whom first, huh?”
Jiang Yan realized her mistake, and with a grin, quickly changed the subject. “Handsome Cousin looks so slim, but I didn’t expect him to have abs.”
The white shirt was a bit fitted, subtly showing off Qin Mo’s well-toned body.
Liu An’an leaned in with a mischievous smile, hooking her arms around theirs and whispering, “I heard guys like that are really… l*stful.”
“Cough, cough, cough!” Wen Xia was caught off guard and almost choked on her own saliva.
Jiang Yan’s face turned red, her expression clearly interested. “Where did you hear that?”
“I read it in a novel. Let me think, the scene goes like this…”
Liu An’an paused to recollect, then excitedly continued, “The man with well-defined hands unbuttoned his white shirt, revealing a firm chest. He’s the type that just oozes l*st.”
“Ahhh!! When I read this part, I really felt it!”
Wen Xia: “…”
It seemed like Qin Mo really was quite… l*stful.
