Chapter 64: IF Ending • Original World (Extra 6)

May all blessings be upon you (The End)

After the competition, when they finally returned home, two days had already passed.

The moment the door opened, the whole room lit up. Standing at the entryway, Qi He said:

“Do you know what can fill an entire room in one second?”

Yan Chuanbai stood beside him. “Light.”

“Correct.”

Qi He looked around the bright, spotless living room with satisfaction. “The radiance of our championship is illuminating the whole room.”

Buzz… Something sounded at their feet.

The cleaning system stopped with a click. A pair of dead-fish eyes appeared on its screen: “I did the cleaning.”

“……”

Qi He calmly stepped inside and glanced at its pedometer. “Thirty thousand steps. Thanks for your hard work.”

“Hehe.”

Yan Chuanbai closed the door and walked in as well.

The system buzzed and followed them. After resources were restored in the post-apocalyptic world, it had been upgraded with a simulated voice module. Now it could communicate with them directly.

Qi He walked straight to the display table and put back on the pair of rings that had been placed there temporarily.

A shadow fell over him from behind.

An arm reached under his elbow and slipped the other ring onto his finger. Then it tightened slightly, circling his waist.

Lowering his gaze, Yan Chuanbai saw the brilliant frost-like sparkle on Qi He’s slender fingers. His eyes narrowed slightly.

“During the award ceremony, I felt like something was missing.”

Qi He understood the subtext and said, “It’s my first battle after returning, and your first battle after debuting… Whether it’s the audience or the industry, it’s best if all the attention stays on our performance.”

Yan Chuanbai was immediately soothed.

But then his gaze gradually deepened. “Oh… so many people paying attention to you.”

Qi He comforted him: “There will be plenty of people paying attention to you too.”

Yan Chuanbai’s expression paused.

The system circled around their feet while chirping, “Hehe Hehe Hehe.”

Yan Chuanbai fell silent for a moment, then said softly, “When will you change that confrontational mindset of yours?” He spoke in a deep voice, “…I’m jealous.”

Qi He blinked in realization, turned his face slightly, and tilted his head up in a clear cue.

Yan Chuanbai lowered his head and pecked his lips: “?”

“Slow and steady—this is also part of the strategy.”

After saying that, Qi He patted his hand. “Come on. Put your things down. Let’s go out for dinner.”

Meanwhile, just as Qi He expected—

Discussion on major platforms and forums was on fire. This year’s CSl.B Holographic Season was full of buzz.

[Q wins his first offline match after returning—undefeated!]

[Rookie Y stuns in match replay.]

[First-ever dual-player team…]

[Q announces permanent dual-player team…]

Under these major topics, countless keywords also became hot searches:

“God-tier boss, demonic rookie,” “0-point elimination,” “team-wipe ritual,” “zero-communication god-tier tactics”…

And amid the wave of intense match discussions, a smaller current was quietly rising:

[Q–Y Sugar Compilation Thread | Only tasteful fans allowed.]

“OP has taste! Incredible taste!”

“Ahhhh I’ve found my people! I’m already shipping them like crazy. They barely spoke more than five sentences total, yet I’m completely gone. [oxygen mask]”

“That’s exactly why it’s so shippable—because it’s fewer than five sentences!”

“Anyone else think Y’s whole vibe screams ‘please praise me’ whenever he’s around God Q? And that look during the award ceremony—did you SEE it?? [zoomed image]”

“Y is obviously super handsome too—they LOOK perfect together!”

But in the midst of the excited niche shipping crowd, there were also dissenting voices:

“Hands off Q God. No forced CPs, thanks.”

“Ship in your own corner, don’t dance in front of the real people.”

Among them, one user ID was especially intense.

[Bird No.1]: What’s there to ship? What’s the point? There are tons of teams—see two people together and you start shipping blindly?

[Bird No.1]: Q is just carrying a rookie, that’s all. Their interests are tied. And honestly, that Y guy barely had any screen time; he’s hardly some “demonic rookie.”

[Bird No.1]: I seriously don’t see ANYTHING there! Stop bringing this kind of fandom nonsense into our circle!

The small community had already begun tearing each other apart.

But everyone knew that “Q” had always focused on evaluations and competitions, uninterested in popularity. The so-called “fan-circle behavior” had been rectified by Q’s own sharp tongue before, so Q’s fanbase was usually well-behaved.

Despite differing voices, nothing extreme happened.

Only the heat kept spreading outward like ripples…

Meanwhile, the two of them had already finished dinner and returned home.

After washing up, they lay down on the bed, feeling completely refreshed.

Qi He leaned against the headboard and casually swiped his tablet. “Game companies and the event organizers have already left messages asking for your contact info. Now that you’ve made a strong debut, you can join various events and competitions in the future.”

Yan Chuanbai slipped an arm around his waist and rested his chin on Qi He’s shoulder, glancing at the screen. “Mm. Anything’s fine.”

Qi He paused his finger. “…If you don’t like it, you can do something else. You can treat competitions as entertainment.”

Yan Chuanbai narrowed his eyes slightly. “Why wouldn’t I like it? What’s there not to like about teaming with you? You already announced a permanent duo team—if I’m not teaming with you, then who would you team with?”

“……”

Qi He was used to his shamelessness whenever they were on the ‘bed.’ “As long as you like it.”

He smoothed him down skillfully. “I’m just saying you could excel in other things too.”

A buzzing sound circled the bedside again.

The system slid in to mop the floor, opening its internal channel to complain mercilessly:

[With how thick his skin is, he’d succeed at anything he does.]

“……” Qi He fell silent.

Yan Chuanbai paused when he heard the noise, his gaze settling for a few seconds.

Then he picked up the remote and pressed a button.

The robot vacuum turned around, carrying the system out of the room. The smart bedroom door slammed shut with a bang!

System: [?]

Qi He: “?”

Yan Chuanbai said matter-of-factly, “Didn’t you ‘teach’ the AI not to enter the master bedroom at night?”

“…It’s just an AI.”

A cold laugh sounded by his ear, his posture radiating territorial claim.

After a moment of silence, Yan Chuanbai suddenly said, “I’ll work hard to make money.”

The topic jumped too abruptly—Qi He: “?”

Yan Chuanbai said calmly, “Then I’ll buy the upstairs unit.”

This residential building was newly constructed—and pricey. There were still a few units left, and the one upstairs happened to be vacant.

Qi He suddenly had a flashback to floors 28 and 29 of the tall tower in the original timeline. “You want… intermittent cohabitation?”

Yan Chuanbai’s eyes darkened. “The system has worked hard. We can give it its own apartment.”

…So he wanted to separate living spaces with the system! Not with him!

Qi He froze for a second, then suddenly sensed something. He sprang up alertly—only for the arms around his waist to tighten and pull him back instantly.

Yan Chuanbai lowered his gaze, pinning him down. “Player Y, activating trap.”

“……” Qi He raised a hand to block him. “Wait—mm!”

A long-suppressed kiss sealed over his lips, hot and urgent. “…I’ve held back for a long time.”

The strength pressing him down at the shoulder loosened slightly.

Qi He kept his eyes closed as he kissed back, entangling with him for a long while. His eyes gradually warmed with moisture. Suddenly he remembered, “We’re not prepared.”

A hand moved above him, fishing something out of the bedside drawer. “I am.”

“?” When did he—?

A thought flashed through Qi He’s mind—earlier when they’d gone out for dinner, they had passed by a certain shop, and Yan Chuanbai had slipped away for about five minutes.

Qi He drew in a short, shallow breath. A general’s insight and efficiency… truly meant he could succeed at anything.

“Spacing out again?”

Yan Chuanbai bit lightly at the tip of his ear in dissatisfaction, pulling his attention back.

Qi He’s gaze returned; he was just about to flip over and press him down when—

A cool touch pressed against him.

“…This isn’t the apocalypse anymore. We don’t have supernatural abilities. It might be harder for you now—so lie down this time.”

Qi He’s eyes widened. He was about to look down to see what it was, but in the next moment, his brows knitted together, his lips tightening—

He could already feel it.

He let out a low breath, gripping the arms beside him, turning his head to the side. “Yan Chuanbai.”

Soothing kisses fell slowly along his ear and neck, warm with grounding reassurance, wrapping around him:

“…I’m here.”

Qi He gradually relaxed, opening himself up.

The lights dimmed.

His eyelashes dampened, and his refined profile carried a soft sheen. As his brows loosened, the hand withdrew.

There were no supernatural abilities in this world—but at least everything else was complete.

Yan Chuanbai propped himself up, switching positions with practiced yet slightly clumsy care. Lowering his gaze, the look in his eyes—possessive and loving, unwavering for decades—

“…Have all of me, Qi He.”

Qi He silently nodded once, gripping him—

The curtains by the window swayed, and his vision blurred under the soft glow of the ambient lights.

Life seemed to return to how it was before.

In every way.

The two lived together, going out and returning home side by side each day. Yan Chuanbai took full advantage of the fame from his “debut victory,” frequently participating in various online and offline competitive games.

As a “rookie,” he rose rapidly through major gaming circles with astonishing momentum.

Qi He used to work solo, taking jobs on his own.

Now that he had Yan Chuanbai, he simply founded a studio—the name: Q–Y.

The moment a studio carrying both of their IDs was established…

While it stirred waves in a certain fast-growing fandom circle, it also made their studio’s name widely known.

In just three short months, Yan Chuanbai had received countless invitations.

Because Qi He had once “dropped dead” from overwork, he cut back on some of his workload. Most of the time, Yan Chuanbai was even busier than him. Right now, Qi He was at home resting, and the robot vacuum was circling around his feet.

System: “Hehe, he doesn’t even accompany you on weekends.”

Qi He flipped a book casually. “Yan Chuanbai needs to make money. A hardworking man is the most attractive.”

“What’s the point of earning so much money? You’re already rich. Companionship is the longest confession of love~ Like me—”

“You’re a mascot.”

Qi He gave it a kindly glance, then added, “Yan Chuanbai said he wants to earn money to buy you an apartment.”

“?”

The robot vacuum froze for a second, then immediately saw through everything with sharp clarity: “He just wants to monopolize you!”

Click.

The front door suddenly opened.

Yan Chuanbai was back—and all the system’s explosive chatter landed fully in his ears before it could retract the words. He lifted his eyes toward the suddenly-silent system and closed the door behind him. “Come here.”

“?”

The system held its breath: [Hehe, this man intends to kill me.]

It slowly “buzzed” its way over.

Clatter. A bag was placed on the table.

Yan Chuanbai took out a rare, limited-edition mecha model—his prize from a recent competition.

He spoke with complete casualness: “Giving you a new shell.”

The model stood on the table, sleek lines, sharp edges, white-gold plating reflecting a cold metallic sheen. With the shifting angle, a faint gradient shimmered beneath like scattered starlight.

The system’s code trembled: “!!!!!!”

Qi He: “……”

Yan Chuanbai picked the model up. “Let’s put it on you.”

The system burst into ecstatic frenzy: “Bop bop bop bop bop!!”

Qi He: “……”

While swapping out the casing, Yan Chuanbai explained as he worked: “It can fly too—jet-powered.”

The system was utterly dazzled, unable to tell heaven from earth anymore: “Aaaaaaaahhhh—”

Qi He: “……….”

It took only thirty minutes to install the new shell.

The system finally got what it had dreamed of. It shot around the entire room like a cannonball, overflowing with energy. As for its earlier complaints about someone trying to monopolize its host—completely gone, wiped clean!

Yan Chuanbai walked over and sat down beside Qi He.

Qi He closed his book and looked at him for several seconds, truly impressed: “…You’re actually pretty good at taking care of kids.”

Yan Chuanbai remained methodical, never forgetting his long-term plan: “We’re still far from affording that apartment. I’ll keep working hard.”

As their exposure grew,

That small initial group of CP fans continued to rapidly expand. Even people who had never followed gaming, after seeing the replay of their match, couldn’t help joining in:

—It was honestly impossible not to ship them!

Both were equally good-looking, skilled strategists, and their cooperation was seamlessly in sync, as if their minds were connected without words. Now they had even opened a studio together, and rumor said they were constantly going places as a pair.

But what truly set off a tidal wave was a photo a netizen posted—an accidental encounter with the two.

The image wasn’t very clear, but on both their hands were matching rings.

“AAAAAA WHAT IS THIS!?”

“No way—did my crack ship just become canon?!”

“Matching rings! This is basically irrefutable!!”

“I knew it! Why else would Q suddenly bring a ‘newbie’? Isn’t this basically a soft launch!?”

Amid universal celebration, a few solo-stans held their ground.

Especially one ID who had been stubborn from beginning to end:

[Bird No.1]:Rings? Those are just standard accessories issued by the studio.

[Bird No.1]:Q only focuses on his career!!!

Before long, some sharp-eyed netizens pieced things together from the person’s past comments, IP, following list, activity times, and various other clues:

“Wait… this account looks like Night Owl’s alt.”

“Hahahahahaha hold on— it really does look like Night Owl!”

“Went from ‘anti-chasing-fan’ to toxic solo stan, and now he’s getting triggered by the real ‘spouse.’”

“Also got eliminated with 0 points— dude got triggered twice in one match. [I’m dying]”

“Hahahahahahahahaha!!”

With this drama of the year exploding, the comment sections everywhere instantly derailed, drowned in walls of “HAHAHAHA.”

And that user, completely ignoring whether their cover was blown or not, still stubbornly insisted:

“Anyway, it’s all just your imagination!”

Right then, the entire platform and every forum suddenly erupted:

“Holy sh*t!!”

“Check Q-God’s social media!!”

“And Y’s— hurry!!”

On the social platform, Q’s profile picture had changed.

A high-definition ring, the frosted design shining brightly. The top of the motif curved toward the lower right— looking unmistakably like a capital ‘Q.’

And Y had changed his profile picture too.

A pair of long, well-defined hands— obviously Y’s own. He was making a victory sign, as if proudly showing off to the whole world. The matching couple ring gleamed on his finger.

Everyone: !!!???

Night Owl’s main account: f*ck.

CP fans completely lost it:

“Aaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!”

“‘Q’ and ‘Y’ 999999!!!!”

“The CP I ship is REAL!! Wait— no, this isn’t even shipping— they’re actually a real couple!! [flowers][flowers][flowers]”

“Couple rings! That means they’re married, right? RIGHT?? [fireworks]”

Qi He casually scrolled for a second, then exited the app.

Yan Chuanbai’s eyes followed him closely. “I haven’t even seen what people are posting.”

Qi He patted his ‘dog head.’ “Of course they’re sending blessings.”

The two were sitting together on the sofa.

Since getting its new outer shell, the system had rediscovered its deep love for its “male protagonist.” Very pleased, its handsome display face automatically switched to the pair’s IDs—then replaced the hyphen with a “v.”

Like an emoji winking in delight: [QvY]

It had completely forgotten its rocky past, and even began spraying cleaning mist while wiping the windows, chanting loudly:

“Baibai Hehe, may you love for a hundred years~”

“Baibai Hehe, made for each other by heaven and earth~”

Qi He looked over. “See? Even the AI thinks so.”

Yan Chuanbai happily accepted this and reached over to take his hand.

Bright sunlight poured in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, illuminating the small busy figure working nearby. On the sofa, the matching rings rested closely together, shining with a brilliance that would never fade.

“Indeed,” Yan Chuanbai said. “It’s obvious to all—no need to say more.”

— The End —
