Chapter 16: Healing Potion
The man looked over in astonishment.
In the live stream, Witch Shanshan’s hand seemed to have been scratched by something just now. A long wound on her fair arm was particularly noticeable, and blood was still flowing out.
Shanshan didn’t care. She casually picked up a white glass cup beside her. The sound of crystals clinking against the glass was very clear. As she moved, raising her arm, the black witch robe slid down, revealing her ice-like skin.
Shanshan tilted her head back, and the white crystal in the water glistened against the black robe as she drank it down.
With this action, the wound on her arm actually started to heal slowly!
In just a few seconds, there was no trace of the wound at all!
But a faint trace of blood still proved what had just happened!
With 73 no longer speaking, the live chat was open for comments again. Witnessing this miraculous scene, the chat exploded!
[Wow! Is this a healing potion?]
[!!!]
[Every time I think that’s all there is to witches, Shanshan surprises me again.]
[What? The wound healed in just a few seconds?]
[Shanshan!!!!!!]
[It’s magic! It has to be magic!]
[Does the Bureau of Paranormal Investigation still not believe it? Even if everything before could be faked, this wound was real! This is a true witch!!!]
[Amazing Shanshan!]
[Witch, please give me the healing potion! Price is not an issue.”
[Want the potion.]
[Want the potion.]
Before the audience could continue clamoring, Shanshan, now in a bad mood, said coldly, “Alright, that’s it for tonight’s stream. I’ll decide next week whether or not to stream depending on my mood.”
After saying that, she immediately turned off the live stream.
Elsewhere.
The director, deputy director, and a group of high-ranking officials stared at each other in disbelief.
“Um…” someone murmured softly, as if sleepwalking, “Are we still going to arrest her?”
The director finally couldn’t hold back anymore and shouted irritably, “Arrest my foot! She can heal in seconds; do you think you can catch her?”
The voice echoed through the room, as if he wasn’t the one who had suggested the arrest in the first place.
*
Su Mu turned off the live stream.
Her back was soaked with cold sweat. She stared at the black screen for several seconds before coming back to her senses.
The first question from No. 73 made her realize something was wrong.
It also made her realize that there were other witches in this world.
The Bureau of Paranormal Investigation had a way to determine if she was a real witch!
Su Mu clenched her fingers. Although she had responded quickly and used vague answers to muddle through, it must have aroused suspicion. Otherwise, No. 73 wouldn’t have disappeared without a word.
Realizing this, Su Mu had deliberately pretended to accidentally cut her hand before ending the stream, using the effects of the moon water to take a gamble.
Whether she succeeded or not depended on whether she would be found tonight.
Su Mu replayed No. 73’s questions in her mind and secretly remembered the “EN.”
“Sister Shanshan…” Beside her, Xiao Ding, who had watched the whole process, finally snapped out of it and asked with difficulty, “Are you… a real witch?”
Su Mu stood up, her expression already back to normal. She replied lightly, “I told you that night, didn’t I?”
On her first night in this world, Su Mu had said she was a real witch.
“Uh, Sister Shanshan, don’t be mad,” Xiao Ding said dazedly, “I just… just…”
Just what, he couldn’t say.
It was too surreal!!
It shouldn’t be like this!
He knew very well that when he and Shanshan had collaborated before, she had clearly been faking it!
How could pretending turn into reality?!
As Xiao Ding’s eyes drifted, Su Mu had already taken off her black robe, preparing to leave.
Seeing the girl’s white wig, Xiao Ding hesitated for a few seconds before coming to terms with it.
Regardless of whether it was real or fake, Shanshan was incredible for pulling this off.
“Can I walk you part of the way?” Xiao Ding offered.
“Sure,” Su Mu replied, putting on her hat and mask, and they walked out together.
This rental apartment was very cheap, so its location wasn’t great; it was in a chaotic area where small-time gangsters roamed the streets at night, making it hard to find a taxi.
The two of them walked side by side in the darkness.
Turning a corner, a group of yellow-haired men, arms around each other, approached them.
However, Su Mu wasn’t worried because…
“Boss!”
“Brother Ding!”
“Boss Ding!”
“Yeah.” Xiao Ding nodded nonchalantly.
Su Mu found it amusing that this person had just been calling her Sister Shanshan.
Regarding her turning a gangster boss into her little brother…
“Yo?” One of the gangsters whistled, casting a l*cherous glance at Su Mu. “Is she your girl?”
“Don’t talk nonsense!” Xiao Ding, with his serious expression, still managed to intimidate them.
The gangsters immediately fell silent, standing by the wall to let the two pass first.
After walking past that stretch with Xiao Ding, Su Mu caught a taxi to her home.
In the car, the system appeared: “Congratulations, host, you’ve encountered a random long-term mission. Please choose whether to accept it.”
“Accept,” Su Mu said without hesitation.
[Mission Level: ?
Mission Description: Use the witch’s methods to aid humanity. Accumulate ten million relief points to grant the host one wish.
Time Limit: Three years
Failure Penalty: None]
“Wish?” Something flickered in those cool, clear eyes.
“Any wish,” the system said, “but it can only contain one element.”
In other words, no loopholes.
For example, if you wish for an apple and also want to meet someone, wishing for that person to bring you an apple would be considered two tasks and therefore unachievable.
Su Mu tilted her head, her eyes reflecting the brightly lit streets outside, her long eyelashes tracing an arc in the darkness.
“What are relief points?”
The system didn’t respond.
It seemed to want her to figure it out on her own.
Su Mu didn’t dwell on it. For now, surviving the night was her priority.
She got out of the taxi, swiped her card to enter the community, and returned home.
As soon as she got home, her phone chimed a few times.
Su Mu took it out and saw that Feng Sa had sent her several messages.
[Feng Sa: #WitchShanshan’sPotion#]
[Feng Sa: #WitchMagic#]
[Feng Sa: #WhiteHairedShanshan#]
[Feng Sa: #HealingPotion#]
Su Mu looked at the string of messages and was silent for a moment.
Unable to resist, she sent a “?”.
Knowing she wasn’t interested, why send this to her?
Feng Sa replied: [Hahahahaha, you know what? I work at the Bureau of Paranormal Investigation. My boss said yesterday that Shanshan was to be executed. Today, they were slapped in the face and canceled all plans overnight!]
[Hahahahaha, it’s so satisfying!!!]
[But don’t tell anyone. It’s so embarrassing that the higher-ups don’t want it to get out.]
Su Mu’s gaze moved from “don’t tell anyone” to the previous message.
Then, she sincerely said, “Feng Sa, you’re a good person.”
