Chapter 61: Like You, My A**

By the time the three of them finished their makeup and returned to school, the event was about to start. Along the way, quite a few classmates stared at them.

Jiang Yan, holding onto Wen Xia’s arm, said, “Xia Xia, An’an, do we look like monkeys from an amusement park?”

Liu An’an and Wen Xia couldn’t help but laugh. Both of them reached out and poked her to shut her up.

The three of them found their seats in their class’s section and sat down. Instantly, all the boys in the class began cheering. “Wow!”

Someone called out Jiang Xu’s name, and his face immediately turned red. The whole class erupted in laughter again.

Cao Jun, who was nearby, overheard but didn’t scold them. It was a rare moment to relax, though he still said, “Keep it down a bit.”

At this moment, near the school gate.

Qin Mo and Wen De were registering their names and ID numbers at the security office.

They hadn’t planned to come together.

They had just bumped into each other.

After leaving the security office, Wen De looked at Qin Mo with a stern face and asked, “Is the school on break?”

Qin Mo: “……”

Of course, he couldn’t admit to taking a leave of absence. Keeping a straight face, he lied, “Day students don’t need to attend evening self-study.”

“Hmm.” Wen De didn’t say anything else.

The two of them stood near the edge of the playground, next to a cafeteria worker, watching the activity.

Qin Mo’s tall figure naturally stood out among the crowd. Combined with his good looks, he attracted even more attention, with several girls sneaking glances in his direction.

One particularly bold girl ran over and handed him a bottle of mineral water, shyly saying, “Cousin, I bought too much. This is for you.”

Before Qin Mo could react, the girl had already run off. He frowned slightly.

Wen De glanced at the water, then at Qin Mo, before finally turning to look at the stage.

It was as if he didn’t want to dirty his eyes by looking at him.

Qin Mo: “……”

Awkwardly, he coughed and said, “Uncle Wen, do you want some water?”

“No, thank you,” Wen De replied without even turning his head.

Qin Mo: “……”

Even with eight mouths, he couldn’t explain this.

Wife, save me.

Soon, the evening gala began. The lights focused on the stage as the male and female hosts stepped forward.

“Respected leaders, teachers, and fellow students, good evening…”

No one could tell how many performances had already been watched, but the sky had turned completely dark, with only the stage area brightly illuminated.

At this moment, a poetry recitation on stage ended. The male host walked up and announced, “Next, we have a performance from Class 8 of Grade 11: Peach Blossom Spring. Performers: Wen Xia, Jiang Yan, and Liu An’an. Please welcome them with a round of applause!”

As the male host left the stage, the lights dimmed. Suddenly, a male voice from the audience shouted, “Wen Xia, I like you!”

Immediately, the entire school burst into an uproar.

“Wen Xia, I like you too!”

A chorus of voices joined in, coming from all directions, impossible to pinpoint.

Qin Mo’s face turned green.

Like you, my a**!

The stage lights came on, revealing the three girls stepping out. Wen Xia stood slightly in front and at the center. Under the lights, she was especially striking. Her fair face was lightly made up, and the soft blush on her cheeks gave her a playful and lively charm.

With her background in dance, her movements were far more graceful than those of Jiang Yan and Liu An’an behind her.

The audience’s gasps grew louder.

“Wow!!”

“Wen Xia! Wen Xia! Wen Xia!!! Wen Xia, you’re so beautiful!”

Someone even screamed so loudly their voice cracked.

On stage, Wen Xia nearly broke character but quickly continued her performance.

Qin Mo pulled out his phone, his expression dark as he started recording. He zoomed in, focusing only on Wen Xia.

Great. My wife is misbehaving.

A few minutes later, the dance ended with Wen Xia’s spinning sleeve flourish. The three girls bowed and exited the stage.

The entire audience erupted.

“Ahhh!!! Wen Xia, I like you!!! Wen Xia!!!!”

“Wen Xia!!! Wifey!!!”

The moment Qin Mo heard the word wifey, his face darkened to an extreme. He cursed under his breath, “Damn it!”

Despite the noise, Wen De still heard the curse. He put his phone away and into his pocket.

Then, he turned to glance at the boy in the dim light of his phone. “Are you going to keep watching? Or are you coming with me on the way back?”

Qin Mo took a deep breath, adjusted his mood, and replied gently, “Uncle Wen, I’ll watch a bit longer.”

Wen De didn’t say anything else and turned to leave. He wasn’t worried about Qin Mo doing anything with Wen Xia—this was a school, and there were teachers keeping watch.

Once Wen De was far enough away, Qin Mo strode in the direction of the girls who had just exited the stage.

After sitting down, Liu An’an couldn’t hold back her laughter. “Xia Xia, that was hilarious. These people are something else. I swear I heard someone shout ‘wifey.’”

“I almost forgot a move because that guy was yelling so loudly,” Jiang Yan added with a hearty laugh.

Wen Xia had put on her long coat and was about to speak when someone grabbed her hand. She turned, and in the flickering light, she saw Qin Mo’s face.

She steeled herself and nervously said, “Cousin, what are you doing here?”

Qin Mo smiled, his anger clear in his eyes. If he hadn’t come, she would’ve kept lying to him. Good job, Wen Xia, you’ve got some guts now.

“Come with me. I need to talk to you.”

He stood up, pulled her up with him, and they made their way around the crowd, leaving the playground and stopping under a dark tree.

Before Wen Xia could even apologize, Qin Mo roughly pressed her against the tree trunk. The next moment, he kissed her.

No, it wasn’t a kiss. It was a bite.

“Hiss, Qin… Mo.”

A few minutes later, Qin Mo finally released her, but Wen Xia didn’t dare move—something was pressing against her lower body.

Qin Mo’s voice was hoarse, mixed with a dangerous undertone, “Did my words go in one ear and out the other, Wife? Do you think I won’t do anything because you’re still young?”

“Mm?”

“Come on, let’s try it tonight. I promise you’ll be satisfied.”

Wen Xia: “……”

She reached out and tugged at the corner of his shirt, weakly saying, “Husband, I was wrong.”

“Wrong? I don’t think you’re wrong. You have dozens of husbands in this school.” Qin Mo was really angry. He raised her chin and kissed her lips.

Wen Xia knew she was at fault, so she let him kiss her. After he released her, she cautiously tried to please him, “I only have one husband, and his name is Qin Mo. Husband, Husband, Husband, don’t be angry, okay? I promise there won’t be a next time.”

This act of acting cute clearly worked on Qin Mo, and his anger subsided, his “fire” also went out. “Say ‘Husband’ a hundred times and let me hear it.”

Wen Xia: “……”

What a child.

She dared not get angry, so she whispered, “Husband, Husband, Husband…”

As she said it, Qin Mo responded each time.

After five or six minutes, Wen Xia finished, and thinking that Qin Mo’s anger should have subsided, she cautiously asked, “Husband, are you satisfied?”

“Not satisfied. If you don’t get first place in the year-end exam, we’ll settle the score during the winter break.” Qin Mo bit her nose.

Wen Xia: “……”

When the lights were about to go out, Wen Xia returned to the dorm. When Liu An’an saw her, she happily said, “Xia Xia, we’re first!”

She paused, “Hmm? Xia Xia, why is your mouth so swollen? Did you have an allergic reaction to lipstick?”

Jiang Yan also came over to take a look, “Wow, Xia Xia, your lips look like sausages, hahaha.”

Wen Xia: “……”

She awkwardly covered her mouth.

In a dream.

“What score did I get? Did I get first place?”

A girl squeezed through the crowd and found her name at the very bottom. “How could I have scored zero? Impossible, impossible.”

The scene changed.

The boy pressed the girl under him, “Last place? Huh? There are more than a thousand people in your grade, so let’s do it a thousand times.”
