Chapter 5 – Organizing Supplies

Afterward, she stopped planting crops and started growing some vegetables in the field.

She grew a variety of vegetables, thinking that this way she wouldn’t have to buy vegetables and could save a lot of money.

Moreover, the vegetables grown in the space tasted exceptionally delicious and made her feel physically comfortable. She was quite satisfied.

So she also stocked up on vegetable seeds.

As for the vegetables that ripened and couldn’t be consumed, she picked them and stored them in the empty space. The space had preservation capabilities, so she wasn’t worried about how long they would last.

She also planted three fruit trees at the edge of the land, two apple trees and one pear tree.

Although it had only been a year since she planted them, the trees had already borne fruit.

She bought trees that were ready to bear fruit immediately.

As for why she only bought these two types, it wasn’t because she didn’t want to buy others; it was simply not very convenient.

Because she lived in a shared house, it wasn’t convenient to order things online and have them delivered.

For these three trees, she accidentally saw them being sold at a flower and bird market on the weekend, so she secretly bought them. It took a lot of effort for her to find a place without surveillance cameras to bring them into the space. She was still nervous about it.

Another reason was that she didn’t have much money. She had to repay her student loans every month, and her salary was low just after graduating. She had to rent a place to live, so she couldn’t save much money.

Originally, she had planned to visit the countryside during her future vacations, but she didn’t expect to time-travel before she had the chance. She could only wait and see for the future.

Currently, these three fruit trees were bearing fruit for the first year. Perhaps it was because she watered them with the spring water, but they yielded quite a lot of fruit. She picked them all and stored them properly. She hadn’t finished eating them yet, so she stacked them neatly next to the crops.

The only regret was that the space couldn’t hold living things. Otherwise, she would have bought some chickens and ducks to put in it, so she wouldn’t have to worry about meat and eggs in the future.

Thinking too far ahead, really, having what she already had was already good enough. Who needs anything more!

So currently, besides these things, there was nothing else in the space.

Lu Xia sighed with relief. Fortunately, something was left for her.

In addition to these, there was only a small house on the side in the space.

The house wasn’t big, to the point that it couldn’t even be considered a house. It was shorter than her, appearing like a cubic structure measuring one and a half meters in length, width, and height. However, its function was quite remarkable.

She had discovered it earlier.

This small house couldn’t be entered by people, nor could things be placed inside. Its only purpose was to remove the husks from grains.

Yes, the function of this small house was extraordinary. When she put unhusked rice inside and it came out from a small opening on the side, it was already husked.

If she put wheat inside, it would not only remove the husk but also turn into flour. The same went for corn; it would directly transform into a semi-finished product that could be cooked.

However, the functionality of the small house was limited to grains.

Lu Xia once tried putting apples and vegetables inside to see if they would turn into juice and dried vegetables.

However, she was disappointed. When she put grains inside, the small house would automatically close its door. She didn’t know how it worked inside, but as long as she placed sacks at the side exit, the processed grains would pour into the sacks.

On the other hand, when she put apples and vegetables inside, the door of the small house wouldn’t close at all, meaning it didn’t work. So when she took them out, the apples remained apples, and the vegetables didn’t undergo any changes either.

She even tried buying grains from outside and putting them in for processing, but it was useless. Anything not produced within the space couldn’t be put inside the small house.

In short, the small house served as a place for minimal processing of grains grown within the space.

Nevertheless, it still saved her a lot of trouble. After all, it would be cumbersome to take all the grains out for husking. Having the small house made things much more convenient.

Moreover, the husks and straw left after husking in the small house would automatically be absorbed as nutrients when placed on the ground. She didn’t need to take care of it herself, which was very convenient.

Chapter 6 – Appearance

At this point, Lu Xia suddenly remembered the small threshing machine she had bought before.

Oh no, she lost that thing too.

Lu Xia felt heartbroken.

Because she intended to use that thing in the space, she even specially equipped it with a rechargeable battery. It was quite expensive!

However, after buying it, she regretted it because she later discovered that the small house didn’t require grains to be threshed before being put inside. Even if she put the straw in together, it would automatically separate them, process the grains, and then spit out the straw. She only needed to move the straw to the ground herself.

So she regretted it. She had planned to sell it secondhand, but before she could sell it, it was gone.

Heartbreaking!

But now it was no use feeling heartbroken. Lu Xia made an effort to forget about it, then finished exploring the inside and outside of the space. Gradually, she felt relieved in her heart. With the space, she had gained some confidence.

After coming out of the space, she got up from the “bed”.

The simple wooden bed made creaking sounds as if it was about to collapse.

But Lu Xia knew it wouldn’t because the previous owner had been sleeping on it for so many years, and it had always been like this. She had gotten used to it.

After getting off the bed, she walked to the corner of the wall where the vanity table was. This was the place of her elder sister, Lu Chun. Normally, the original host wouldn’t come here, and her elder sister wouldn’t let her use it.

If her sister found out, she would probably get angry.

But Lu Xia didn’t care about that. After sitting down, she picked up a mirror and looked at the appearance of the original host.

The person in the mirror looked thin and weak, with a pale complexion tinged with yellow. Her hair was even worse—not only yellowish but also dry and frizzy.

Clearly, it was caused by malnutrition.

Normally, even if the original host wasn’t favored, she shouldn’t have ended up looking like this due to lack of food. After all, her parents were both working, and they should be able to support their four children.

But Lu Xia’s family was different. Her parents were particularly “filial”.

And they were filial to their respective parents.

Lu Xia’s father was the second child in the family, and his situation was similar to Lu Xia’s. In order to win the attention of their parents, he was especially filial. Even though he had moved out, Lu Xia’s grandmother often found excuses to ask him for money, and Lu Xia’s father usually wouldn’t refuse.

Lu Xia’s mother was also filial, but she was filial to her own family. She would visit her parents every two or three days, never empty-handed. Moreover, because she worked in a textile factory, there were always some defective fabrics, and her family had benefited from them over the years.

So even though their family was a dual-income household, they still lived tightly.

Of course, Lu Xia’s parents would take care of the other children, so they wouldn’t go hungry, but Lu Xia, the transparent one, was ignored. But she wouldn’t starve to death.

Thinking about this, Lu Xia sighed and carefully looked at the appearance of the original host. Although she was somewhat thin, her features were still delicate.

And what caught her attention even more was that the original host actually resembled her a bit.

Lu Xia from the 21st century used to be thin too. Later, after getting the space, she had been eating vegetables from the space and drinking the spiritual spring water. Slowly, she gained weight and her skin became fair and smooth. She had become a little beauty, and there were quite a few people pursuing her. But in her heart, all she wanted was to make money.

So Lu Xia wasn’t worried at the moment. She would regain her appearance, and besides, the original host was not even 18 years old yet.

After understanding this, she went back to find the original host’s clothes and put on a piece that Lu Chun didn’t want. It was full of clothes that she had worn and was disliked by her. Then she left the room.

There was no one in the living room now. They probably knew that she was in a bad mood, so they deliberately left some space for her to think things through.

  1. I relieved that the ’70ies LX was still alive and transmigrated into LX’s body. She’s a good girl and I want her to stay alive, living a better life. I just hope she won’t resent how she doesn’t inherited LX’s space. After all, she gets more freedom and vast world (opportunities) in modern era in exchange for her past life.

As for how biased and “eccentric” the ’70ies LX’s parents were,… sigh. 🙈🙉🙊 I pray the best for everyone.
