Chapter 453 – Dean Qiu’s Story

Hearing him say this, Lu Xia felt somewhat worried. “Will her identity affect you?”

After all, she was the daughter of the dean of the architecture college, and the dean had complete authority over Jiang Junmo’s future job allocation upon graduation.

Jiang Junmo shook his head. “It won’t. I didn’t know about her identity before, but now that I do, it’s easier to handle. Also, I heard that our dean only returned from the countryside two years ago and is currently single. I haven’t heard anything about him having a daughter in our college.”

Upon hearing this, Lu Xia pondered. If that’s the case, there’s probably a story behind this. After all, when she looked at that girl today, she seemed proud, not like someone who had experienced rural life.

Seeing Lu Xia lost in thought, Jiang Junmo said, “Don’t worry about it. I’ll handle it.”

Hearing him say this, Lu Xia stopped thinking about it. She believed he could handle it.

Later, Jiang Junmo showed concern for her well-being. After all that happened, he was afraid her health might be affected and wanted to take her to the hospital for a check-up.

However, Lu Xia declined.

At first, she was quite angry, but it was mostly because of what Qiu Wanyu had said. After the anger subsided, she was fine.

Seeing her persist, Jiang Junmo didn’t insist. He took great care of her that night and only felt reassured when he saw that she was truly unaffected.

The next day, after arriving at school, Jiang Junmo inquired about Dean Qiu’s story from Zhou Yan.

Zhou Yan was curious upon hearing this but didn’t ask why he wanted to know. He simply shared what he knew.

It turned out that Dean Qiu had been betrayed by his wife initially, leading to his transfer to the countryside. After he left, his wife remarried and had a good life with her new husband.

However, their good fortune didn’t last long. When circumstances changed, Dean Qiu returned and reclaimed his previous position. Unfortunately, the family his wife had married into faced troubles. She promptly divorced her second husband and returned with their child, seeking to reconcile with Dean Qiu.

Dean Qiu did not agree. Perhaps the long period spent in the countryside had left him disheartened. He focused all his energy on his work, dedicating all his time to the school. Hence, students in their department did not criticize Dean Qiu.

Jiang Junmo was somewhat surprised to hear all this.

Observing Jiang Junmo’s expression, Zhou Yan knew what he was thinking and explained with a smile, “You only transferred in your second year, so you don’t know much. Actually, we all know about this. In our first year, Dean Qiu’s ex-wife came to the school several times, and the news spread.”

Jiang Junmo nodded. Now that he knew, it seemed that Dean Qiu’s relationship with his ex-wife and child was not too good. Now he knew what to do.

At this moment, Zhou Yan remarked, “Oh, look who’s here again. Why is she so persistent?”

Following Zhou Yan’s gaze out the classroom window, Jiang Junmo saw Qiu Wanyu’s face. When she noticed him looking, she even smiled at him.

Jiang Junmo’s expression turned cold, recalling what she had said to Lu Xia yesterday. He almost wanted to go out and give her a piece of his mind.

But he knew he couldn’t do that. He just gave her a cold glance and turned away.

Seeing this, Zhou Yan asked, “What do you plan to do? We can’t stay like this forever. Some of our classmates are starting to notice. If this continues, it might affect your reputation, and considering Classmate Lu’s situation, it wouldn’t be good if she hears about it.”

After hearing this, Jiang Junmo nodded at him. “Don’t worry, I have a solution.”

Zhou Yan breathed a sigh of relief. “That’s good. It would be best to remove her from our group. I can’t stand it anymore.”

A smile played on Jiang Junmo’s lips. “Rest assured, I’ll do my best.”

Hearing him say this, Zhou Yan felt relieved. After all, he was starting to understand Jiang Junmo a bit. When he said he would do his best, it probably meant he had a plan.

Chapter 454 – Meeting with the Dean

.

After class, Jiang Junmo didn’t rush to find Lu Xia this time. Instead, he headed towards the dean’s office.

He knocked on the door and heard the dean’s voice from inside.

“Please come in.”

Jiang Junmo pushed the door open and saw the dean, with his graying temples, busy writing something.

Seeing him open the door, the dean smiled gently and said, “Student, what can I do for you?”

Jiang Junmo had seen the dean before, but this was the first time they had spoken.

He greeted him first, saying, “Hello, Dean. Do you have some time now? I have something I’d like to discuss with you.”

“Oh?” Dean Qiu looked up at him and nodded.

“Then, please come in and tell me.”

After Jiang Junmo entered, Dean Qiu asked him kindly, “Which major are you in? What year are you? Is there something you don’t understand?”

Jiang Junmo introduced himself, saying, “I am Jiang Junmo, a sophomore majoring in architectural design.

You see, Dean, a while ago, my classmates and I participated in a group design activity organized by the school. However, after signing up, an extra slot was added to the group…

“I believed she was just a freshman who hadn’t taken any major courses yet, so I thought she wasn’t suitable for this activity. I’d like to ask the dean to help remove her name.”

The dean was a bit puzzled upon hearing this. “Is that all? Couldn’t you just talk to your assigned teacher about this small matter?”

For such a trivial matter, was it necessary to specially come to him, the dean?

Hearing the implications in his words, Jiang Junmo continued to explain, “The teacher mentioned that he couldn’t decide on this matter. After all, it was the college leadership that added her to the group.”

“Oh?” The dean raised an eyebrow upon hearing this. He had many doubts in his mind. After all, why would they add a freshman to this working group? What was the purpose?

“What’s the student’s name?”

Jiang Junmo chuckled at his question. “Her name is Qiu Wanyu.”

The dean froze for a moment, then looked at Jiang Junmo again. This time, he didn’t maintain the previous mild demeanor; his eyes were filled with determination. However, since Jiang Junmo had come, he wasn’t afraid and looked back at him.

But the dean smiled after a while. At this moment, he finally understood why Jiang Junmo had come to see him. Apparently, someone misunderstood his intention and added his daughter to the sophomore study group.

However, why did she want to join? Was it for learning purposes?

He didn’t know much about this daughter of his, but she was still his daughter, and he cared about her.

Regardless, using connections like this was not right.

Thinking this, Dean Qiu said directly, “I understand. Rest assured, I’ll handle this.”

Having said that, he gestured for Jiang Junmo to leave. Even though he thought this male student was quite good, he felt it was unnecessary for him to come specifically for the sake of removing one person. It seemed a bit petty and calculating.

However, Jiang Junmo didn’t leave and continued, “Sorry, Dean, I have one more thing I’d like to tell you.”

The dean looked up. “Oh? What else?”

Jiang Junmo smiled and said, “Dean, you may not know, but I’ve been married for five years. My first child is four years old, and now my wife is pregnant again, expecting triplets.”

“Um… congratulations?” Dean Qiu didn’t understand why he was sharing this information.

Then Jiang Junmo went on, “I love my wife and children very much, so I won’t divorce, and I won’t let my wife, who is going through a difficult pregnancy, ab*rt the babies just to become the so-called dean’s son-in-law.”
