Chapter 353 – I am Xie Guifang

As they spoke, the two of them descended the stairs. It was lunchtime now, so many students were leaving the lecture halls, representing various majors.

Upon reaching the ground floor, they realized that there were even more people downstairs. The previously noisy crowd seemed to have gathered in a tight cluster, refusing to disperse.

Lu Xia and Jiang Junmo were surprised and moved closer to see what was happening. They soon spotted Xie Guifang surrounded by the crowd. Across from her stood the girl Lu Xia had seen yesterday.

At the moment, the girl’s face was streaked with tears, crying heavily and struggling to catch her breath. Yet, she held onto Xie Guifang tightly, preventing her from leaving.

Xie Guifang’s expression was a mixture of fear and unease. She kept trying to break free from the girl’s grip.

“What’s going on?” Yu Wan, standing beside them, asked curiously.

The three roommates from their dorm, all of whom were studying literature, had noticed them coming downstairs and joined them. They had already witnessed the situation unfold.

“It seems like that girl has been waiting downstairs. When Li Hua called out to Xie Guifang, she suddenly rushed over, grabbed her, and when Xie Guifang tried to escape, the girl was too strong for her. She didn’t manage to get away, and then the girl started crying. We don’t really know what’s going on.”

Lu Xia had her own suspicions but didn’t voice them. She continued to watch the situation unfold alongside her roommates.

The crowd continued to grow, and Xie Guifang became increasingly impatient. Turning to Li Hua beside her, she said, “What are you standing there for? Help me get her off me!”

Li Hua seemed at a loss as well. Faced with another woman, he wasn’t sure how to intervene. He could only ask, “What’s going on? Do you know her?”

Xie Guifang’s impatience showed in her eyes, “Who knows where this crazy person came from? How could I possibly know her?”

Upon hearing this, the girl felt even more distressed. Li Hua then turned to her and said, “Excuse me, could you please let go of Xie Guifang? If there’s an issue, we can discuss it calmly.”

The girl’s face twisted into a mocking expression at his words. Finally, she spoke, her voice dripping with sarcasm, “Xie Guifang? Is that what you’re called now? Haha, Xie Yunyun, when did you change your name to Xie Guifang?”

Xie Guifang’s eyes flickered with panic briefly before returning to normal. “What are you talking about? I don’t understand. Also, I don’t know you. Please release me.”

However, the girl’s grip tightened even more. “Don’t know me? Xie Yunyun, we were classmates for two years in high school. How can you suddenly not recognize me? Tell me, why are you using the name Xie Guifang? And if you’re Xie Guifang, then who am I? I am Xie Guifang! I’m the real Xie Guifang!”

As the girl spoke, her voice turned hoarse, and the mixture of anger and trembling in her tone sent shivers down everyone’s spine.

By now, the bystanders were all frozen in shock.

Even Lu Xia’s roommates were puzzled by the situation. Yu Wan opened her mouth but took a while before any words came out. “What’s going on? What does she mean by her words?”

Lu Xia shook her head and refrained from speaking, her brow furrowing as she continued to observe the unfolding events.

Seeing the girl utter those words, Xie Guifang’s eyes briefly betrayed a hint of panic before she quickly regained her composure. She glared at her and said with conviction, “Nonsense! What are you talking about? Are you insane? Coming to Peking University and causing a scene? What’s the matter? Couldn’t get into university and decided to mess with people? You’re just a lunatic!”

“Lunatic! Hahaha, maybe I’m actually close to becoming one!” The girl’s laughter was accompanied by tears, her eyes gleaming with madness.

“Do you know how it feels when I found out I had an admission notice that I never received? Do you know what it’s like to have someone toy with your life? Do you understand the desperation that led me to come to the capital alone? How dare you? How dare you use my name and my admission notice to enroll at Peking University? Do you have any idea how much effort I put into this? On what basis? On what basis can you so shamelessly enjoy the fruits of my labor? Why?!”

Chapter 354 – Denying Until the End

.

As her words fell, the scene erupted into a buzz of commotion. Everyone was taken aback by the implications of her words.

“What? Are you saying that Xie Guifang used her admission notice to enroll in university?” Yu Wan exclaimed in astonishment.

The roommates’ expressions grew serious as well. Clearly, they hadn’t anticipated something like this.

Meanwhile, Xie Guifang’s eyes were filled with panic.

“You’re talking nonsense! What are you saying? The admission notice is mine, and I got into university through my own efforts. What does it have to do with you? Don’t falsely accuse me!” she retorted.

The girl gave a scornful smile, “Got in? How did you get in? Was it based on your consistently low exam scores or on the fact that your parents are government officials?”

“What nonsense are you spouting?” Xie Guifang vehemently denied. “It’s been years since high school graduation. How would you know if I haven’t studied hard in these past few years?”

“Huh, so you’re admitting that you know me and that we were high school classmates?” The girl’s words led Xie Guifang to realize she had fallen into a trap.

The surrounding students also caught on to the contradiction in Xie Guifang’s words. Could it be that what the girl said was actually true?

At the same time, Xie Guifang realized she had misspoken. She glared at the girl with deep resentment, her expression sour, “So what if I admit it? Even if we were classmates, you can’t claim that my admission notice is yours!”

“Huh, is it really your admission notice?” The girl sneered, “Then why did you change your name from Xie Yunyun, the name you’ve had since childhood, to Xie Guifang once you got to university? And, coincidentally, we share the same name.”

“I did it willingly. What business is it of yours?”

“I agree, it’s not my business. However, I’ve already inquired at the admissions office. They sent the acceptance letter to the address in our village, while your family resides in the county town. You can’t possibly use our village’s address, can you?”

Xie Guifang faltered, but she still refused to admit it, “You’re talking nonsense, making baseless claims. You won’t destroy my identity as a university student with your fabricated lies. You’re just envious of me. A countryside girl like you, envious that I got into university, deliberately stirring up trouble. You have sinister motives. I’ll tell my father to have a word with your village chief. He should discipline you properly!”

These words thoroughly infuriated the girl. She had never encountered someone so shameless before. Unable to contain herself any longer, she slapped Xie Guifang in the face, not once but twice while Xie Guifang was caught off guard.

When Xie Guifang regained her senses, her head was ringing, and her face burned from the slaps. She let out a cry before retaliating in a frenzy, striking back like a madwoman.

The scene descended into chaos. No one had expected the two of them to suddenly start fighting. However, given the exchange of words earlier, most of the onlookers were content to watch without intervening.

Only Li Hua stood to the side, unsure of whether he should step in and separate them.

“What are you all doing!”

At that moment, their academic counselor and department head arrived.

With the arrival of the teachers and the department head, the other students finally stopped spectating and rushed to pull the two girls apart.

Both girls were in a frenzy. Xie Guifang’s face was swollen and her hair disheveled, while the other girl seemed slightly more composed, though tears streaked down her face, leaving her appearance disheveled as well.

The academic counselor’s expression was grim. He hadn’t expected to encounter a situation like this when he came downstairs during the lunch break. To make matters worse, the department head was present to witness it.

With a stern expression, he asked, “What’s going on here? Why is there a commotion under the lecture hall?”

  1. All right girl calm down they just want to enjoy a little gossip all right, and you don’t need to wait till the officials tell you that indeed the guy with the knife murdered the person with stab wounds dead in front of him.

But this is China and all, can’t say anything until it’s government approved, they teach em young to always respect authorities and not think too much for themselves.

And I’m all for innocent until proven guilty but cmon, it’s obvious.
